NBA Elite 11 delayed indefinitely... but we will still Jam this year

Uh oh... this isn’t good. Electronic Arts has announced that the upcoming NBA Elite 11 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 has been delayed until sometime in 2011. The game, which was originally scheduled to be released on October 5, 2010, was pulled by the developer at the last minute.

The exact reasoning for the delay has not been stated, however Peter Moore has stated on his blog that they are going to take the chance to put “extra time” into the game. Electronic Arts had originally planned to include a digitally distributed, HD version of NBA Jam along with the title. While Elite is not making its ways to consoles this year, NBA Jam will still make its way out by the end of the year. NBA Jam will now be released on its own courtesy of EA, sometime before the holidays. Many expect NBA Jam to now be released via the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network platforms, however I am hoping that they turn it into a full fledged release similar to the Nintendo Wii version. Hopefully EA will take the extra time with Jam and add in the feautres that were being cut from the Wii release of the game.
