It's never good to hear this sort of news but
Kotaku is reporting EA's laying off a bunch of people from various offices. Tiburon, Black Box Studios, Redwood Shores QA, and Mythic Entertinament seem to have been affected. That's a pretty good range of studios getting trimmed which is not good news. The funny thing is EA just finished purchasing Playfish.
I wish any of those I've met at EA that has been affected by this and those I haven't the best of luck. It's never good to lose your job and especially in these tough times but I hope you guys and gals land on your feet quickly.
