E3 2010: Goldeneye 007 gets press release, now official

The game shown over the past 24 hours around the world as the rebirth of Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo Wii was’t “really real” until now. Activision has made the game as official as it get by announcing the title with an official press release (available after the jump) and launching an official web site.

Goldeneye 007 will launch for the Nintendo Wii this November. The game is a modern re-envisioning of the classic title with Daniel Craig’s Bond utilized rather than Brosnan’s. The game will support both a motion control scheme as well as Classic Controller support for the controller faithfuls. In addition to all of the classic multiplayer features that made the original such a classic (the highly customizable 4-player split screen), the new version of the game will support up to 8 player online play. The online mode will contain a newly designed XP system that will allow gamers to level up and unlock access to new weapons and characters. Activisioni s also including its own “achievment” system to give gamers more of a reason to keep playing the game.
