In the name of in-game goodies, BioWare is asking that gamers participate in the Dragon Age II demo that is releasing on February 22nd. So long as the demo hits 1 million downloads before March 1st, BioWare will reward the community with two in-game items: “The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall” that gives players additional money, and “Lothering’s Lament” that gives players an experience boost.

The demo centers on the prologue of the game, and allows players to choose from one of three classes. Completion of the demo allots players with “Hayder’s Razor” – which is a dwarven blade that provides a boost to health, mana and combat abilities – to be used in the full release of the game.
February 22, 2011 marks the launch of the Dragon Age II demo, and BioWare is actively recruiting an army of Champions to help hit the 1 million mark on downloads of the demo across all platforms. If the target is reached before March 1st, gamers can look forward to a free unlock of two in-game items for the entire community to use in Dragon Age II. The items include “The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall”, which provides additional money to your hero when accessed, and “Lothering’s Lament”, which gives an XP boost when read.

Demo download progress will be tracked on a special page, which can be found here: http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/demo/

In the Dragon Age II demo, players will venture through the game's prologue, choosing from three different character classes. They'll also learn more about Hawke and hone their skills and abilities that will make them the ultimate hero. After finishing the prologue, players will enter a key new location in the world of Dragon Age, Kirkwall, befriending Isabela, a romantic interest in the game who is also a deadly smuggler. As an added incentive, upon completion of the demo players will unlock a special weapon, “Hayder's Razor”, an ancient dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, in the full release of Dragon Age II.
