Capcom brings the arcade classics back on iPhone

Capcom has launched their “freemium” retro arcade title Capcom Arcade on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The application itself is free to download for all users with an iTunes Store account, but the specific games available within the app require fees to play.

Within the Capcom Arcade, players will currently find four classic Capcom titles available for play: Street Fighter 2, Ghouls n Ghosts, 1942, and Commando. TO play any of the games in the Arcade, players have one of two options: purchase the game in its entirety ($2.99) or purchase a batch of tokens which can be redeemed for single plays on a given game (10 tokens for $0.99). If you do not wish to spend any money within the application, players are given 3 “free plays” per day which can be spent on any of the available games.

Capcom intends on adding additional arcade games to the service / application each month. You can check out a few screenshots of the application and its games below:
